Hello, welcome to the Ra'Star. There are some great threads in the Dark Eldar Tactics forum, such as the thread "Need Advice Ask Here." That has some great advice concerning tactics and list making. Check that out, and reply with any questions.

Shouldn't be here. Im moving it the the army list area.
Before we give further advice could you tell us how you wish to play them. Raider rush, Web way portal, wych cult, mandrake stealth style or foot horde? (well etc etc)

Somthing that might help us to help you is if we knew what armies you'll be playing aginst regularly and also if your planning on using a Kabal or a Wych Cult, the tactics for each can be very diffrent.
With those tow bits of infomation, plus how many points the games will be (1500 by the thread title) we can give you some good advice that should see you return from many succesful battles with slaves a plenty.
Welcome to Dark Eldar.com as well!

Welcome to the boards! As the others have already stated we would need more information to help you create a well-balanced yet highly effective list.
Here is a sample list HQ Archon = 140 (depending on what gear you give it) Troops 2 x 10 man sniper squads (10 warriors 2 Dark lances) = 200 2 x 20 warrior squads (2 blasters, 2 splinter cannons, 1 serabrite + Agoniser + SP) = 432 Elites 2 x10 mandrakes = 300 Heavy 1 Talos = 100 2 Ravegers 3 Disintegrators + Night shields = 280
= 1452 pts 84 Models
It’s a very slow moving list, but it gives you a lot of medium range firepower against assault/horde oriented armies, as well as the numbers and heavy weapons to bring down other foes.
Cant do much more without knowing who, or what you face. [glow=orange,2,300]For the Dark City! [/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Thanks for all this. I will play mainly Tau and Tyranids and i will play like by sending some troops in a raider to one flank and sending all my other guys up the other. The first raider drops the troops off and takes some guys to the other flankl. I will also be getting decapitator before too much longer. I havent found one for sale yet though. Is this a good tactic for DE? I am also making a desert battlefield with craters and forests etc. Does anyone know where a good website is that tells you how to make a battle ground? Or do you guys know anything?[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]It is also a Kabal.[/glow]
[glow=purple,2,300]Please modify your posts if you have missed something to avoid double posts. There is a thread about it on general. Ive moved your comment into here.
Thanks. 'raith[/glow]

'Nids and Tau..... [censored].......
Ok ive finished cursing to myself. They are to very different armies. Against Nids you really do not want to be assaulting but against Tau you do. So you may have to have to lists to fight each. I have little experience with Dark Eldar against either so i can't help you much.
Decapatator doesn't havea gw model, you would have to make your own. If you start a new thread on the modelling board we can help you with terrain over there. Although id say now if your making terrain make sure you put lots of cover on the table.

[glow=red,2,300]I'm thinking about changing my strategy now. i saw a post yesterday and i have gotten a list together as follows.
Decapitator 30 mandrakes 5 reaver jetbikes 10 raider squad with dark lance and wwp 10 raider squad with dark lance 10 raider squad with blaster Ravager Talos
All things that can have deep strike things and all raiders have scaling nets. the points total is 1498. what do people think?[/glow]

I twitch in pain after seeing something like this. Ok I see issues and will point them out That’s fine the way it is, look under the ARMY OF SHADOW tactic that may work for you.
They need to have 2 blasters to take out tanks, otherwise they are not geared up for assault and will do nothing. (as well as they cant deepstrike so not such a good idea.)
WWP on a raider are a bad idea, since the raiders are now sooo much easier to kill, you will get shot down after 1st turn. Also the squads are not geared up for assault or shooting as they are they. Get rid of the Dark lance, add a Splinter cannon and a Blaster on all of them, and a Serabrite with Poison blades or agoniser. If you want to deepstrike add Screeming jets.
Fine the way it is but add Night-shields and switch to 3 Disintegrators for anti infantry fire power. And Screaming jets for deepstrike.
Too slow and cant deep strike get, scourges with splinter cannons or another Raveger or raider squad. And Slave snares while good only work after you move over an enemy, you cant use them when you deepstrike, and you cant get out when you deepstrike.
Other then that good luck.
And Sorry if I am being rude but I am tired and im just trying to point out that your squads and list is a bit unorganized. Usually the more focused your list is the better you will do.

i was thinking that myself, if you want all of your stuff to deep strike, the only thing i see that could work with the WWP is the talos, and if its only 1, i wouldnt recommend it. if you were using more then 1 talos, it would fairly understandible. like for my haemonculi army, im giving 2 out of my 3 haemonculi a WWP and mounting them on a raider, by the time turn 2 or 3 comes along, i open the portal, and my other 3 talos' come rushing in. but thats just me, in my opinion, the WWP in your army is a waste of 50 points. kind of like what lesserevil said, i'd take out the talos and WWP, and maybe get that ravager or another raider squad (more raider's means more guns that have to be pointed at them )

[glow=red,2,300]Thanks lesserevil. you didn't sound the slightest bit rude, just wise. I see now how the wwp is useless as all my team infiltrate or can DS. ive re-done my list and this is what i came up with:
Decapitator 30 mandrakes 5 reaver jetbikes and 2 blasters 10 raider squad with splinter cannons, blasters, syb with poison blades 10 raider squad with splinter cannons, blasters, syb with poison blades 10 raider squad with splinter cannons, blasters, syb with poison blades **ravager (standard)**(not deep strike. on table at battle start.)
Ravager and disentergrators and night shield and deep stirke . that is 1393 points , 107 spare. (without **ravager**) **i think i will chuck in another ravager giving me 1498 pts.**unless there is something more valuable.does the sybarites poisoned blades count for the entire squad? 71 units with extra ravager. i also read something on another website. what do you guys think about deploying a trojan horse at the start of the game, and only a trojan horse, revealing the units at the end of the third turn. what do you reckon?
