Okay all you interested people out there. Here it is my battle report. I was using Dark Eldar, and my opponent, Bryce, was using Ultramarines.
It was an ambush mission, DE playing attacker (duh) and SM playing defender. We chose to have a victory to the team that had the most victory points prior to starting.
Kabal of the Blacksoul – 600 points
Dracon
• Hellglaive
• Skyboard
• Shadow Field
• Combat drugs
2 x 10 warriors
• 2 dark lances in each squad
8 Hellions
Ravager with 3 disintegrators.
30 units
Ultramarines
Force Commander
2 x 6 Space marines
• 1 squad with las pistol
• 1 squad with multimelter
4 Bikes
1 land predator (I think, it had BS 4 and 14 amour on all sides, 2 twin linked las cannons and a twin linked heavy bolter)
18 units
Turn 1
Dark Eldar
The hellions moved their 12” towards the bikes, and the archon moved out of the forest towards the same bikes. The ravager shot 3 dis. And took out two of the bikes. All my troops, hellions and archon failed to scratch the bikes amour, and the bikes passed the LD test. The hellions went into close combat and failed to wound any bikes, and they lost one of their number, passed Ld test, and hit and runned behind the bunker out of sight. That ended my turn.
Space Marines
All units moved as far as possible towards the objective, except the tanks and a unit of marines, which moved to the hellions. It was at this point that Bryce tried to cheat, by having a longer range, but I caught him out. HAHAHA. The tank killed a hellion, and the troops did not kill anything. The space marines that did not shoot assaulted the Dracon. His iniative let him kill one, take one hostage. The remaining four hits were all thwarted by the Shadow Field. God Bless It.
Turn 2
Dark Eldar
Shooting failed to show any results, despite about 10 wounds. Curse that 3+ save, I hate it. Assaulting was better. Hellions beat his marines and they fell back, and the hellions caught them. 3 died 3 hostages. The Dracon continued his battle, but no wounds from either side. Good saves.
Space marines
The tank was sent towards the objective, and the force commander finally moved out of the forest to join his units fighting the Dracon. His bikes moved to the hellions. The shooting was pathetic. Nothing was killed, but my ravager lost a disintegrator from the lascannons and was stunned. Skimmers float when stunned, and this one floated off the edge of the battleground. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. The force commander joined the Dracon assault without results from any side, and the marines assaulted the hellions with no results.
Turn 3
DE
The dark lances finally took 2 kills, and the squad guarding the objective was not in range of anything yet. The shooting did nothing else, lack of range, but the assault ended with the hellions taking 2 more prisoners, and the Dracon taking one of the force commander’s wounds. It was at this point that the Dracon lost his shadow field.
SM
With all their units tied in close combat, only the tank could move. And it did. It was 11” from the objective with one turn to get there. This tank took 3 Dark elder troops, but they passed the LD test. The hellions killed their combaters and consolidated towards the dracons battle. The force commander was this time taken hostage, and the Dracon lost a wound.
Turn 4
DE
The only movement was of the troops moving closer to the assault. They then fleet of footed to within assault range. 5” away. The other troops shot 2 DL at the tank. It stunned the crew for this turn, and destroyed the bolter. Then the troops that moved went into the assault, so it was 10 troops, 6 hellions and the Dracon vs. 4 space marines. The space marines did not lose anyone, but I lost 3 hellions and the Dracon. Oops. Every one passed the LD test, so the battle continued.
SM
The tank was stunned, and all units were tied up in battle. The marines took 2 troops, and the DE took 2 marines. We decided that the DE won, as it would be stupid to run with 13 units to 2, so we had the marines take a test to fall back which they did, and the DE caught them. More hostages.
It was now that we rolled to end the game. “The game ends on 4+, you roll” I said to Bryce, and he rolled a 3!!
Turn 5
DE
I did not move the troops and hellions that were in the assault, as they would not get to the tank before it moved off the board, or the game ended, but I shot the tank with my dark lances. 2 glancing, a weapon destroyed and the crew shaken. This ended my turn and…the game
SM
The tank drove off the battlefield.
In the end the points were:
DE 475 vs. SM 404 which was a solid victory to the DE.
We decided that as the tank left the battleground it got back to base safely, and raised the alert. Next week, the Kabal of the Blacksoul will assault the now alerted fort of the Ultramarines, which is called Fort Schaville.
All in all a victory for the DE
FOR THE DARK CITY!!
Thank you, and goodnight.
