Well while I've been able to get most of the fluff for my Kabal down, (although I've misplaced it so I have to go searching for it again, ragh!) I'm having a problem with Dark Eldar names. As the only Dark Eldar dictionary seems to be on 40konline, which is down, I'm finding it difficult to create names that actually have some sort of meaning instead of seeing how many z's I can pack into a name to make it sound particularly Dark Eldarish. In otherwords, I'd like the etimology of my characters to mean something, which is why I stole Kheradruakh for my Kabal Lord (even though I'd like to change that at some point, it's the niftiest name I have to go with currently and most people don't know I'm taking it from The Decapitator as they don't read the DE Codex ). So I'm wondering if there is a place perhaps to help with this - as I intend to have a female archon, a male Drachon, and then my Kabal Lord all intertwined into my fluff but don't want to rely on filler names. So what was your method to come up with a name, and does it actually mean something to the best of your knowledge? And do you think you could help me get out of this writer's block ?

Well as the resident fluff writer, (although my productions of late have been few and far between) I am always happy to help others with their fluff related problems. Hmm. Names with meanings? Well my Lords full name is Archon No'ki AreIfieth. No'ki is just a mutilation of another lord’s name, No'aki, I found the name No'aki in a WD and used that for awhile before I wrote the fluff for my kabal. Much like you are doing now with Kheradruakh. Then later on I found a very handy website that The Farseer told me about that is an English-Eldar dictionary. From here I found a fought of what I roughly wanted my name to mean and then found the best way of saying it and so I got my second name AreIfieth, Honoured Darkness. So basically go to the dictionary and play around with words until you get something you like.

I also encountered the English-Eldar Dictionary, however I had a problem understanding exactly how names were formed from it. An example of this is Falcon - Falcon doesn't mean falcon, the bird of prey, it means the Eldar God Falcon. In addition, I'm having problems understanding how the words come together to form names (like with Kheradruakh, I neither saw hunter nor head to give me an indication). I've noticed that the Eldar and Dark Eldar seems to have differing speech patterns due to their relative seclusion to one another - but appreciate the help. I have all the fun spooky fluff to go with things, but names I have a problem with regardless of what system I tend to play in, so I just borrow and modify from other sources . I'll see what I can come up with (I'm helping a female friend of mine come up with the name, as I'm basing the Archon on her {how flattering, no? } the Drachon on my already painted Archon w/ Agonizer character, and the super expensive costly conversion for my Archon I already have set up). But once again, help is always appreciated . Edit: In order to test if I'm totally off base, I came up with this: Dorchainulia = Invisible deception? But that's a very unappealing looking name. So I think I'm a bit off in how to work this

Well I finally came up with a few names, just to see if I have the writing style correct. If not, let me know what I did wrong (say just edit the names around a bit for me). Note: This is using the Eldar-English dictionary found through No'Ki's hotlink. Thanks again Kabal Lord - Kheradruakh (Hunter of heads) Kabal Emissary/Secondary - Istrill otBadbRaibha (Raven, Dark lady of dreams) Kabal Tertiary/Dracon of the Recondites – Ifieth Gorachiok (Darkness, Laughter of the Underworld)
