[glow=red,2,300]I recently purchased some DE plastic warriors from Ebay. I assume that they are held together by super glue, and i was wondering if it was possible to unglue them. I also wanted to take the paint off and start from scratch. Is that possible?[/glow]

course. taking them apart isnt a big deal, but you should be careful. i remember there being some kind of liquid that you can use to dissolve the glue and paint off a model. i'll come back to you on that.

It is possible, but not really with plastic models. If they were metal you can use i think paint thinner, or nail polish remover, or i think i heard you can use break fluid, maybe, not sure on the last one. There are plenty of other things you can use. but it will dissolve/melt plastic models. As for metal one, you will need to generally soak them over night, and the plastic bases will melt, so you'll need new ones. Good luck.
As for used warriors, i had a bunch from my friend (they were all really poorly painted) i just used them untill i got new ones to replace them. I would say don't even bother re-painting plastics.

well, you could still spray paint over them. i got alot of used warriors when i first started out, so i spray painted over them, and they look fine now. and break fluid was what i was trying to get at earlier, but one of my pals has always given his used models a fluid bath, and the paint comes off, and all the pieces come off too. i dought it melts them. you can try it, and if it melts, you can blame me

brake fluid is the best by far, it makes the paint come off well and doesnt melt the model at all, i myself have bought most of my army on ebay and i generally just buy heaps, any duds i rip apart and use as conversions and the good ones i just reapaint

[glow=red,2,300]sooo brake fluid. It melts the super glue and the paint comes off, but no damage to model at all? Drachon Ko'zhroc, what do you mean you rip them apart?[/glow]
[glow=red,2,300]yaaaaay i modified![/glow]

no correction there it doesnt make the glue unstick sorry, there's almost nothing that'll do that without melting the model. and in answer to your question i literally rip them apart, the well made models i buy i keep and the ones slathered with paint or in silly poses i rip apart (i have a very large collection of arms) and its archon thank you *hurrumph*

not if you do it right, it always helps to use long nose pliers, clips etc. and if the person you bought them off hasn't slathered them with glue then it should work

okay. the brake fluid and ppliers worked well. i soaked my metal models in Paint stripper, but the base went, but no drama.

Glade to hear the stripping worked, any ideas as to what colour scheme you'll be painting them as?

That sounds like an interesting colour scheme, the midnight blue should work well with the lich purplue, since the blue is so close to purple anyway, but just becareful that you don't use too many colours and make things confusing or distracking, or too complicated to paint. The last want one is the most important, unless you want to spend alot of time on each warrior. I simplified my colour scheme after it took to long to paint each warrior.
