The Black Library is the only un-violated Eldar knowledge base that dates back to before The Fall. It is Located aboard a single Craftworld that is beyond the reach of any normal mortal. Some say this lost Craftworld is to be found in the centre of the Eye of Terror but no substantial evidence has ever been found to support this theory.
The forbidden lore of the Black Library holds the key to the banishment, influences, forms, creatures, perils and promises of Chaos, not to mention much information on the horrors it holds in store for the universe.
It is impossible for anyone who has not mastered the Chaos within and found a balance with it to enter the Black Library. There is a psychic barrier controlled by the “mind” of the library that surrounds it and will simply forbid entry to anyone who has not reached this level of existence.
The black library is near impossible to find. No one knows its exact location but it is said that it exists between planes. It is visible in the material plane that is our universe but it is untouchable in this form, if you wish to enter it you must do so through the Eldar Webway where it exists in a tangible form.
The knowledge within is all that is left of the once great Eldar Empire and their Gods. It is all that they have left and although its power could be used to do much good it could also be used to perform unimaginable evil.
It is because of this that the Eldar Solitaires come. They are the greatest of the Harlequins, the one group of Eldar to be truly free from the curse of Slaanesh. They are sworn to protect the knowledge locked within and will do so till the time of the Ragnarok.
The only other group to have access to the Black Library is the Illuminati of the mon-keigh. They are humans who have been possessed by daemons and have managed to throw off the possession. In doing so they gain the ever-elusive balance with Chaos that stops most people entering the Library.
The warrior scribes that are destined to guard the Library until there dieing day are chosen from these two groups of people. They are formidable warriors and they spend all their life maintaining the age-old tombs of the Library and guarding it against attack.
Though there are innumerable numbers of texts within the library there is one book that holds power far beyond that of any others. This is the book of Rhana Dandra. It is supposed to contain knowledge on the Eldar Apocalypse, the last battle between the Eldar and the forces of Chaos where Slaanesh will be destroyed along with the remnants of the Eldar race. This last struggle would destroy the warp and the prime material plane. Litrally the end of the universe.
It has been rumoured that the Rhana Dandra is what Ahriman is after. However there are doubts as to whether Ahriman would be satisfied with one book, many believe he would take all knowledge in his quest for power.
At present this is all we know of the Black Library. Any knowledge found after the writing of this doctrine will be added in due course.
