The Chaos Space Marine Lord Ramous the Corrupt stood on the bridge outside the gates to the city of Kairn, his band of chaos renegades behind him. He smiled cruelly as part of the gate was opened and five men walked out towards him, unarmed. His voice was like a hammer as he spoke, each word that left his mouth crushing the faith of the five men in front of him. “What is your verdict mortal? Do you bow to the will of the Gods, or do you stand and die by your false Emperor?”
The man at the front of the group attempted to clear his throat, but while he did so lost his bladder control, then shouted in a fear stricken voice “We will die for our Emperor heretic!”
Ramous merely smiled. Then a torrent of purple flame leapt from his hand engulfing the five men, driving them mad before they fell to the ground, bodies twisted in a gruesome parody of the human form. “The drama begins again.” Laughed Ramous as his Chaos Space Marine renegades began attacking the city once more.
Privet Gunter ran down the broken street, stumbling over cracked concrete and fallen streetlights as he ran. He could here their cruel laughter from behind him, a burst of fire and a scream. They were getting closer. As he turned the corner the wall next to him exploded, a lump of concrete catching him in the leg. As he fell to the ground a shadow moved over him. As he looked up he looked into a cruel twisted face. This was their leader, the one they called Ramous. Gunter was filled with terror at the sight; skin the colour of coal, two small stubs poking from his forehead. The eyes a sickening yellow, a mouth filled with dagger like teeth, and that twisted smile that spoke of nothing but evil. Then there was the size, as the figure moved out of the shadow he towered over the fallen Gunter, almost twice the size of a normal man. Ramous smiled, “Say hello to your Emperor for me mortal.” With that Ramous brought his power armoured foot crashing down into Gunter’s chest, crushing his organs.
The Defiler shell burst into the walls of the Senate, leaving a gawping hole in the six-foot of concrete. The bodies of the last few defenders thrown into the air like twisted rag dolls, their comrades fleeing deeper into the senate building, those on the roof being picked off and carried high into the air by Furries before plummeting down to the streets. Ramous and his bodyguard marched up to the senate doors. They had been built to withstand a lascannon shot. “Your walls and gates cannot hold me back!” bellowed Ramous as purple flames danced over his hands before being hurled at the doors. As the flames licked over the doors, the doors became almost liquid, with tortured faces appearing in the metal. Then the fires died away and the doors lay in a melted pool on the floor. Ramous laughed as he stepped over them, driving his daemon sword into one of fear stricken defenders that had been standing on the other side.
Ramous and his bodyguard quickly thought their way through the first set of corridors, mowing any defenders down with bolter fire. Now in front of them stood the doors to the Governor’s main chamber, great ornate gold doors. With a signal from Ramous his bodyguard opened fire on the doors, the bolt shells blasting it off its hinges. With a deafening crash the doors fell to the floor, cracking the tiles with their impact. In the centre of the room stood the Governor, surrounded by members of the PDF. “It is over Governor. Your Emperor has failed you just as he failed me. The true Gods of Chaos have shown me this, and they say you must also. Or I shall destroy you and your soul shall be their plaything.” As Ramous finished speaking the guardsmen around the Governor opened fire with their lasguns, but not on Ramous. The smell of scorched human flesh wafting around the chamber as the body of the Governor fell to the floor. Ramous smiled and as he walked to the Governor’s seat placed his hand on the head of each of the guardsmen who had shot the Governor. As he removed his hand the star of Chaos undivided was burned onto their foreheads. Ramous lowered himself into the chair, barley big enough for the power armoured behemoth. “Another world liberated from the false Emperor.” He smiled as the chamber began to swift, the pillars, floors, walls, everything twisted to the design of Chaos.
