i decided yesterday that i would be writing the story of my kabal. i will be writing it based on battle reports, and i just thought i would let you know. i will not be submitting the first part until next week, but it is coming.
Tireq stood before the warriors, his incubi stood beside him. Jorie, his best incubi, and second in command stated in his gravelly tone, caused by a bolter round to the throat, “We fight, we don’t turn back now. With these warriors on our side, it is the first step to becoming undefeatable.” Tireq nodded, and his heart began to pound. The archon and two incubi trying to defeat 16 warriors was a tall order for an Archon that had never seen battle before. He began to stride towards the sybarite; his incubi began to follow him. Tireq stuck out his hand. Stop. He continued towards the sybarite. As he drew closer, the sybarite drew his combat sword, glaring at Tireq. As Tireq stopped walking towards him, the sybarite opened his mouth and spoke, “We are warriors that serve no one. We will not serve you, don’t try, we will only defeat you. Leave now, and you leave with your head still on your neck.” At this, all the warriors leveled their splinter rifles at Tireq’s chest. He waited for his incubi to come to his aid, but they did not. He looked at the reflection in the sybarite’s blade, his incubi had left him. He had to fight or he would be killed. He shook his arm, and the dagger up his sleeve dropped into his hand, but was hidden. “I will never give in to a useless group of warriors like you. I will fight to the death. I am Tireq, Archon of Kabal of the Black soul and-“
“Shut up,” the sybarite ordered, “I won’t believe that you lead a Kabal when you have only yourself and your incubi that have deserted you” stated the sybarite, looking over Tireq’s shoulder. Tireq didn’t show it, but he was now worried. His incubi had really left. He began to prepare himself for the worst, when he saw the top of two punishers over the top of the ranks of warriors. His incubi were sneaking up on the warriors! He had to keep the eyes of the Dark Eldar on him.
“You say that now, but when I defeat you, sybarite, you will say different. I will have you begging for your life, of begging me to end it when I am through, and you think you can defeat me?”
“How can you win, sixteen to one and you still believe that you can defeat us? Ha. The only way you can beat us is if Asdrubal Vect himself comes over that ridge over there.”
Tireq saw his incubi were close enough to strike. He stated, “I am going to give you one last chance to surrender to me, your last chance to avoid bloodshed. Surrender or die.”
“We will fight you, we never surrender. The weak have no right to live.”
“NOW” Tireq yelled, and there was a swish and two thunks as two heads hit the ground, and two more warriors fell to shots from the tormentor helms of the deadly incubi. Tireq lunged forward; his dagger exposed and took a swing at the sybarite as he turned to the incubi. Tireq just missed, and the sybarite caught him with his blade across the chest. The blow should of killed him, but their was something protecting him. The incubi were now fighting their way through the remaining warriors, three more had fallen already, and the incubi were fighting as well trained dancers, each move fluid, and hitting home hard. One of the incubi lashed out with his punisher, and knocked the splinter rifle out of his foes hand, and hit him with the blunt side, knocking him out, and continuing conflict with another warrior. Jorie was fighting six warriors at once. He swung out with his punisher, and two heads fell. Using this momentum, he swung his body around, and lashed out with his foot, knocking two more out. He glared at one of the remaining warriors, before shooting him in the face. The last warrior began to flee. Jorie picked up a close combat weapon up off the ground and through it at the deserter, and severed his top half. The legs continued to take a few paces more until they too fell. Jorie stood to watch his ally fight off all the remaining warriors, there were three left. He used his punisher to lift himself up in the air, and swung out on his way down, cutting through the head of the first warrior, the torso of the second warrior and the legs of the third. He got up off the ground and looked down at the warrior that was now standing on his stumps on the ground.
“Please don’t kill me,” He begged.
The incubi chuckled, and swung his punisher up, then down, cutting the warrior in half. Both the incubi now stopped to watch the archon fight the lone sybarite. The sybarite struck Tireq again and again, and Tireq just laughed.
“Shadow field, sybarite. You cannot get through it.”
All of a sudden the archon stopped laughing and kneeled over. The incubi began to run towards him, but stopped abruptly. The sybarite raised his dagger over his head and swung it down to kill Tireq, but as the sword went up, Tireq suddenly rose, and planted his dagger into the sybarites gut. The sybarite fell.
“Good battle sybarite, too bad it must end for you now. Kabal of the Blacksoul does not get defeated by a band of warriors. May I enquire as to your name, before you speak no more?”
“Jacqalom,” the sybarite chocked out.
The archon raised the sybarites own blade above his head,
“Good battle Jacqalom, but it was your last.” He swung the blade down, and the sybarite spoke no more. His head rolled to the foot of Jorie, who kicked it away.
“The dark city awaits us, my lord,” he spoke in his gravely voice, “We will be the strongest Kabal soon enough. Plenty more battles lie ahead and we need a stronger force. We will take those who survived today’s fight to Commargh with us. With them on our side, we can get a stronger force and go up against the mighty Kabal of the Black Heart. Someday, your name will be spoken in fear, and I hope I am there when it is.”
