How did i start DE? I was a nid player, but when thier codex was released my rmy was obsolete completely (mostly genestealer force, now they were specialists suddenly!). So i started lookgin aroudn for a new army rather than change my nids totaly. So i bought a few codexes, now the thing that had always annoyed me about rule book nids was how slow they are, so when i looked at De and saw an all mounted army could go 24" a turn i was rather taken with the idea. and that was it really. Then people started syaing how crap they were and that i would never win a game. i have never lost a game.

Might as well say how I started with DE. Well in most games I have a habit of jumping at the hardest thing in the game and being good with it, then getting bored and stopping. So I looked at IG, Ork, Nids, then I heard from my friend that his friend was selling Eldar (1.7k or so) so I took a look at the list thought why not… and got the army. (trouble was it was biel-tan with no transports) So that really sucked… next I wanted a better armored army and something that I could paint so I got necrons… that got boring after 3-6 months so I sold that, and again Eldar was calling to me… God I missed all those power weapon welding crazies… so I thought what else can hit really hard… hm… Dark Eldar came to mind… but all my friends were like “Booo you will never win with them!” so I naturally said “The hell you know…” and that’s where I am now…. 1.5k and still going.
But I got started because I saw a bunch of my friends mini’s (saunders) and was like cool what’s that… curse my impulsive nature.

Hmmm I just realised my reason for collecting DE is basicly the fluff behind my pirates. Disallusioned CWE and DE combine with harlies to form a raiding force extraordinaire.Whilst Im a disallusioned CWE player and DE player who always wanted Harlies (but hate the models). I love the DE rules they are my lucky rules , I have a 90% win ratio with them and they are uber fun to use. However I detest with a passion the models for the DE (exceptions are the bikes and Incubi) and I like the look of the Eldar (dont hate me). Im desperate to see what the woodelve will look like as Im utterly convinced that they will be my ideal base for converting into a rag tag pirate force. CWE players beware my biggest pet peeve is the arrogance displayed by a vast majority of the CWE players in my area and I will at the drop of a hat , be more than willing to show them the error of their ways.Lets be honest here If it wasnt for the arrogance I might still be a CWE player so maybe I should be thanking them ;D

my story's kinda wierd. about a year ago, one of the teachers at my school, who was my sisters psycology teacher, Mr. Harnish started 40k and he was starting a club for the middle and high school students. since Mr. H kind of knew our family cause my mom's a teacher at the same school, he emailed my mom asking if i would like to start. so i did, and i played someone's imperial guard till i decided what army i was going to do and when i had enough models to play. I kinda wanted to do an army noone at the club was doing, and was sort of...evil. he came up with dark eldar, no one was doing them at the club (cause they thought they sucked ) lucky for me, i proved them wrong ;D

I disagree with the whole starter set thing...20 dark eldar warriors can easily bring down a landspeeder and 10 marines, a splinter cannon and a dark lance put into each squadron, 9youre aloud to take 2 heavy weapons per squadron, so i suggest taking two squadrons of ten), then you outnumber the marines in combat, and use an agoniser with the sybarite, its simple, yet effective

oh, and i got into warhammer at my elementary school, i was at one of my friends houses and he owned orks, space marines and dark eldar...i immediately found love deep within the black hearts of the pirates, and of course the continuous rantings and propoganda of one dark eldar player who inspired me to greater evil. I began playing at 11 years of age....quite young to be playing, cause i didnt know what the hell i was doing and my parents would only let me have plastic glue instead of superglue, so most of my miniatures were deformed and the arms went limp and disfugured....eventually my dark eldar army was ruined becuase i wasnt an experienced enough modelor and painter, so i decided to lay off it for awhile and the ngot into dark elves from the old world.....what an army!!!
And now, i am further inspired by this website and the council members to create a new dark eldar army....the twilight spire kabal.

The first troops i commanded were Dark Eldar. Most non-noobs will remember the old 3rd edittion box set with some SMurfs and DE. I also bourt a raider and some reavers. This was the force i learnt to play with. But then i found CWE and was hoocked, for 5 years. With the exeption of 40k, i'm always a bad guy (LotR, Power Rangers, i like black/death metal, anime etc...) so this non-evil routine was quite strange.
Then i decided to get a harlie, exodtie anx DE army in. Owing a 'full' DE army touched something in me and from then on i'm a DE player. I also brached into a Dark Elf force and am enjoying that too.
